Along with the development of display technology,high brightness and low power consumption of green display technology continuously pursue,RGBW display technology has become one of the hot research direction at home and abroad.RGBW the emergence of the display system solves the bottleneck problem of RGB system.To change existing pixel structure,namely the original red,green and blue three sub pixel structure to add white pixels,to enhance the image of the display brightness.However RGBW display technology promotion depends on excellent signal mapping algorithm,how to convert RGB signal from RGB to RGBW RGBW signal in the system,is the foundation of RGBW display system.For RGB color display system domain is relatively narrow,difficult problem,to improve the display quality to enhance image brightness,based on the research of the existing RGBW signal mapping algorithm,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of several kinds of mapping algorithm and the applicable scope,proposed an improved signal mapping algorithm.The algorithm in guaranteeing RGBW RGB input signal and output signal of the R,G,B three-component value,on the basis of the proportion of the same,according to the human eye perception of RGB color is different,given RGB color different weights respectively,and the conversion factor is introduced to extract white sub pixel weight values,the resulting new RGBW signal.Finally,the performance of the improved signal mapping algorithm is carried out by Matlab simulation,subjective evaluation and quantitative evaluation.For subjective evaluation of the effect obtained by Matlab simulation,including brightness,color,clarity and comprehensive index of the analysis of the performance index,and then use the Matlab simulation software to calculate the peak signal-to-noise ratio and image color space corresponding performance index,and to evaluate the quantitative evaluation of the data and analysis,the simulation results show that the improved mapping algorithm to ensure the basic color saturation constant,the RGBW signal with the original RGB signal under the premise of almost the same color,better improve the image brightness.Also designed and built with FPGA as the core of image acquisition hardware platform,complete the FPGA implementation,to improve the mapping algorithm results confirmed that the algorithm can be applied to the CMOS image sensor,the hardware implementation can be improved mapping algorithm is verified.
