With the advent of 4K and 8K displays,consumers have shown their quest for high-resolution displays,but the pixels in high resolution and small-size display are smaller,and existing problems about difficult manufacturing processes,more power consumption and less brightness.At present,the pursuit of lighter mobile phones and the difficulty of improving the efficiency per unit cell about battery caused high brightness and low power consumption are contradictory.In order to achieve the high brightness and low power consumption of high resolution displays,the RGBW technology has been implemented.The RGBW technology is a technology that forms a four-color display by adding one W pixel under the RGB pixel body based on the conventional RGB display technology,the sub-pixel width of the BV2 structure is 1.5 times that of a conventional RGB sub-pixel.For the same structure of RGBW display,whether RGBW technology is good or bad depends on the quality of signal mapping algorithm.Different algorithms have various behavior between the brightness enhancement capabilities and color reproduction capabilities,adding W pixels simply,although improved the brightness,reduces the display quality of the image obviously,such as the decrease in saturation and some visual perception differences due to a large increase in brightness.This paper analyzes the existing mapping algorithms and summarizes the advantages and disadvantages firstly.Then based on the impact of white balance on the color display of the module,this paper studies the white balance algorithm of the RGBW display and verifies the accuracy of the algorithm;In order to circumvent some shortcomings of existing algorithms,a "triangular matching algorithm" and an idea based on "adaptive" are proposed,"adaptive" mainly guides the algorithm to the direction of image-based understanding to enhance the using-breadth of the proposed algorithm,the proposed algorithm can solve the problem of color reproduction ignored by traditional algorithm.Finally,it is verified by software simulation,visual perception experiment and statistical analysis that the algorithm has a good performance in improving brightness and color reproduction.Experimental results show that the four-color white balance algorithm proposed in this paper can achieve three-thousandths of an accuracy of white balance correction.At the same time,the brightness of the mapping algorithm on the text picture based on white background can be effectively improved by about 83.1%,and the overall average brightness is increased by 37.5%.Compared with traditional algorithms,proposed algorithm has greatly improved the color reproduction capability.
