Wireless sensor network(WSN)is a kind of wireless self-organizing network which is close to the practical application,and the main function is information collection and information transmission.As a new way of information acquisition,the emergence of WSN enables users to obtain real-time and accurate information without space restrictions.It is widely used in the information society and has become an inevitable trend in the future.However,energy always restrict the development of WSN.The choice of routing protocol is closely related to energy consumption.With the development of WSN in human life,the current routing protocol research cannot meet the increasing demands of users.Therefore,it is imperative to design efficient routing protocols for different application environments.This paper analyzes the cluster routing protocol of WSN.Aim at shortcomings in LEACH,which select cluster head randomly and communicate with base station in single hop resulting in excessive energy consumption,an improved energy efficient clustering routing protocol HEECR is proposed.Firstly,increasing the residual energy and density factor of nodes to modify the threshold formula in the selection of cluster head.Secondly,referring to chain structure of PEGASIS,all of cluster heads according to greedy algorithm constitute a link as the optimal route base station to establish communication with BS,and take energy and the distance from BS into account to select the best chain head.Then,setting the energy threshold in the rotation of clusters to reduces the extra energy consumption of cluster heads caused by the change of network topology.Meanwhile,considering the average energy of the cluster and the distance of member nodes as basis to make the new cluster head select reasonably.Finally,the performance of HEECR is evaluated by simulation experiment,the simulation results show that: As for HEECR in the area of(100m*100m),the life time of 100 nodes is 1.92 times that of LEACH;When the total energy of LEACH is exhausted,HEECR only consumes 73.3% of that;The total amount of data received by BS of HEECR is 7.1 times that of LEACH.As for HEECR in the area of(200m*200m),the life time of 200 nodes is 3.16 times that of LEACH;When the total energy of LEACH is exhausted,HEECR only consumes 66.7% of that;The total amount of data received by BS of HEECR is 7.65 times that of LEACH.
