A Comparative Study Of Subject Service Platform Application Based On LibGuides In China And America

With the development of society,the subject service of university library has become an integral part of teaching and scientific research.The development of universities is inseparable from the development of teaching and scientific research.With the advent of the digital and information age,the subject service platform based on LibGuides has become the most widely used and rapidly developing one in the field of library's subject services in our country.Improving the subject service platform needs of university in China needs to learn advanced experience of foreign university libraries.In this paper,the author makes clear the subject service platform connotation,type and the service content,service mode of subject service platform.This study selected ten foreign universities and colleges,and ten universities in China that have applied them better.They are selected to conduct investigations and studies on their LibGuides subject service platforms.The author will make a status study on subject navigation service,subject resources service,subject liaison service,information literacy education.This paper will summarize the advantages and disadvantages of each university and its function,analyze the reasons,and put forward the feasible countermeasures for the development of the subject service platform based on LibGuides in China's Universities.The subject service platform based on LibGuides in Chinese universities is late,and the developed countries are still leading in the application of new technology.In our country,most university's subject service platform is using the LibGuides system.This paper will select the universities in China and the US using LibGuides system at the same level,and statistics the development status of the 20 universities' discipline service platforms.It is beneficial to the further improvementand development of academic library services platform in China from both theoretical and practical aspects,by counting subject service platform's application of the ten colleges and universities in China.
