With the rapid development of university disciplines, the teaching and research conducted at college demands a new and high level requirement on the information access. As the subject specialist is introduced to the library, this new kind of measure can help solve the problem to a certain extent. However, the history of the introduction of the subject specialist is comparatively short. As a result, services provided by subject specialists haven't reached a mature degree, and the forms of the services lack diversity. So, it is necessary for us to seek an effective way to solve the problems. A good cyber environment along with the vigorous development of Web 2.0 technologies provides good conditions for the implementation of the information systems. In such circumstances, the construction of the platforms of providing services for the subjects based Web 2.0 offers some solutions concerning the above problems. The building of the service platform doesn't only furnish the subject specialists a working platform, but makes it possible for the users to enjoy a more user-friendly and comfort-experienced service.The purpose of this thesis is to improve the quality of the discipline services in the college libraries and convey the philosophy and ideas of discipline services in a smooth transition manner by introducing the wide application of the discipline services platform.In this paper, the author makes an analysis on the basic theoretical foundations of discipline services and states the development and the related technology of Web 2.0. Meantime, in the light of the real application conditions, the author makes an analysis on the discipline services platform and then designs the platform, relying on the technologies of J2EE, AJAX, RIA, and RSS. The thesis is conducted in the following process:First, the paper analyzes the theoretical foundations concerning the discipline services platforms. Secondly, the technologies applied in the platform are introduced briefly especially Web 2.0. Finally, the author designs the platform, including the positions of the platform in the library system and the relationships with other systems. The design of the physical and the software structures determines the technical frameworks, and it illustrates each of the models in discipline services platform. In the paper, the design of the platform is the core of the article.
