Growth Pattern And Spatio-temporal Distribution Of Online News Comments

With the rapid development of information technology,the Internet has become the main medium for news dissemination.Users are becoming accustomed to obtaining news online and actively participating in the interactive discussion.Online news and comment data have become important online information resources.However,a large amount of online news is overwhelmed by new information and becomes "long tail news",which is difficult to realize the utility value,so that the rate of information utilization is low.Comments are the main manifestation of the utility value of online news and also an important representation of the spread of online news information.It is also of great significance to reveal the aging phenomenon of online news information and the utilization of resources.At the same time,the spatial and temporal distribution of online news comments is closely related to the user's behavior.Online news comments can easily cause internet public opinion.To explore the spatial and temporal distribution of online news comments can effetely facilitate the social governance.First of all,this paper analyzes the related concepts of online news comment,combs the characteristics of it,and summarizes the elements and features of it.Secondly,literature review is conducted on the basic theories related to the characteristics of aging and distribution of information resources,including life cycle theory and stage theory,information aging rules and measures,Pareto Principle and gradient transition theory.On this basis,the research proposed the quantitative measurement index of the growth law and spatio-temporal distribution of online news comments.The growth metrics include growth cycle,growth peak,absolute concentration,peak concentration index and growth half-life.Spatial and temporal distribution measures include coverage,coverage depth,the absolute ratio of concentration,concentration index,range and standard deviation.Finally,this study uses the data from Sina website to make an empirical analysis of the growth law and spatio-temporal distribution characteristics of online news comments.The findings are as follows:(1)Most of the samples have small growth cycles and peak growth.Its growth pattern has four types:negative exponential type,flat type,uni-modal type and multi-band type.(2)The reason for the formation of growth law is the aging characteristics of news information itself,news release time,relevant news events or news follow-up events.(3)The distribution of online news comments in space and time has the characteristics of extensiveness and depth.Meanwhile,it also has the characteristics of time and regional aggregation.(4)The distribution of online news comments is related to the law of people's daily life and the preference of users.The distribution of online news comments in various provinces is mainly affected by the number of regional netizens,average years of education and Internet penetration rate.
