The newspapers will show political bias at different times. However, the current understanding of the political bias of newspapers in the Taiwan region only stays in the tagged "blue and green" sides("Blue" represents the Kuomintang and "Green" represents the Democratic Progressive Party.).Studies on cross-strait issues of Taiwan newspapers have pointed out that Taiwan' s media have politically colored, but 1.Some empirical studies have diverged from existing social cognition;2.There is no uniform“blue-green”classification standard in previous studies;3.Previous studies focused on the "blue-green" bias of the media in a certain year, and did not span more than 13 years(2004-2016).Studying the "blue-green"changes in the newspapers under the background of political party rotation can not scientifically reflect the spectral shift of newspaper politics in favor of decades;4.The past political bias studies mainly focused on electoral issues and did not fully address the issue of cross-strait issues. The judgment cannot fully reflect the "blue-green" color of the media.Under this background, defining the concept of the so-called“blue-green”media in Taiwan newspapers by academic means, has become a new research direction.Based on the theory of political communication, this article uses content analysis research methods to use the“Ten Cross-Straits News of the Cross-Strait Relations" voted by China' s Taiwan Network from 2004 to 2016,analyzed the political biases of the four newspapers include“United Daily News","China Times,"“Liberty Times," and "Apple Daily" and analyzed the political biases of the four newspapers.Findings 1.In the political biased spectrum of newspapers, the United Daily News averaged 2.30 for "light blue",Liberty Times averaged 4.26 for“dark green",Apple Daily averaged 3.46 for“light green",China Times averaged 2.37 for "light blue".2.In 13 years, the United Daily News,Liberty Times and China Times changed slowly, and the Apple Daily changed the most.3.By comparing the editorial choices, arguments, argument choices, and conclusions at the end of the editorial,we can see that the political bias have obvious differences in cross-strait issues.
