Chinese Athletes' Media Image Shaping In Global Media Events Views

In 2016 Rio Olympic Games,Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui had attracted the attentions of domestic and foreign media for her unique performance in the post-match interview,which has renewed the viewpoint on the image of the Chinese new generation athletes.Focused on Chinese swimmer Fu Yuanhui,this paper collects the relative reports from seven mainstream media(People's Daily,New York Times,Union Morning Paper,Xinhua News Agency,CNN and BBC)as the research objects.This paper analyzes the reports about FuYuanhui from domestic and foreign mainstream media from the aspects of report number,the genre of reporting,the theme of news,sources of news,tendency of reporting by the framework theory and compares the similarities and differences of the domestic and foreign media group.Drawn from the experiences and problems exposed,this paper tried to explore the Chinese athletes report strategy which played a leading role in public opinion's formation and lead to build a positive image of Chinese athletes.This paper is consist of six chapters.The first chapter introduces the research background,research significance,study content,research methodology and the history and current status of domestic and foreign research.The second chapter mainly carries on the research design based on the framework theory,Chapter three compares and analyzes the reports about FuYuanhui from domestic and foreign mainstream media by content analyze method during Rio Olympic Games.Based on the research results in chapter three,the fourth chapter discussed and summarizes the similarities and differences of the domestic and foreign media coverage,which is the foundation for further research.Chapter five specially analyzes the report strategy on how to build a positive image for Chinese media and the research prospects are summarized in chapter six.
