With the rapid development of Internet, Internet telephone (Voice over IP, VoIP) will gradually replace the traditional PSTN network. As one of the signaling Protocols to build the Internet telephone system,SIP is welcomed by enterprises for its simple, flexible, distributed-controled and easy-extended characteristics. P2P system has the same node status. So the entire system will not be impacted by the failure of a single node, which makes peer-to-peer have high expansibility, robustness and high fault-tolerance features. How to make use of their advantages to combine these two technologies together is a hotspot of the research at present. Now, there are two chief combinative modes of P2P and SIP. However, both of them have problems of stability and perfection such as the realization of DHT mechanism and the routing of SIP information and so on. For this situation, this paper presents an improved adaptive network phone model based on P2P-SIP and will do an in-depth discussion on it.Firstly this paper introduces the advantages and disadvantages of P2P and SIP and related characteristics respectively; meanwhile it analyzes the demand for the combination between them. Then for the flaws of two P2P-SIP systems, this paper makes full use of the adaptive nature of P2P and the advantages of SIP. With using the DHT mechanism based on the Chord Protocol, the paper proposes a multi-layer network architecture which based on the adaptive network P2P-SIP telephone system. Then the paper studies the model from the overall framework and deals with it by modularized means. It perfects the underlying SIP communication by the use of multi-threaded approach and enhances the stability of the system by improving the DHT module algorithms. Finally, this paper simulates the system model and tests its performance. It analyses the system from theory and practice and various aspect. The experimental results show that the system model has solved the issues as the current SIP-system configuration and inconvenient maintenance and serve bottlenecks and so forth. It makes the system have adaptive, low-cost, easy-extended and other characteristics.
