Utilizing massive high-quality content resources,advanced information technology and first-rate experts,professional pubishers can provide users with the knowledge services needed to solve problems.This is the development goal of professional publishing.On one hand,as a cultural service organization that provides information and knowledge for scientific researchers and workers,professional publishers are inevitably responsible for satisfying the users' knowledge needs,which is also the inherent requirements for publishing principle of double effect.On the other hand,for themselves,it is an inevitable requirement to develop digital publishing and enhance the core competitiveness of publishing enterprises.Most of the well-known professional publishing groups in the world have gone through the process of digitization from content,data to knowledge services.RELX Group has developed a number of mature digital decision tools to provide solutions for professionals in vertical field.In contrast,following the successful experience of digital transformation in foreign countries,domestic professional publishers use information technology to organize and process content resources,and build digital products such as digital library,databases,and knowledge-bases.They use these digital products to provide users knowledge services.This is a common practice for domestic professional publishing agencies to carry out knowledge services.From the perspective of some knowledge service products,though they can help users solve problems,there are still drawbacks of high threshold,weak interaction,and single function.The knowledge services of most professional publishing institutions in China are still in a self-service supermarket-model based on search products.How to turn to personalized and integrated restaurant-model is a problem that domestic professional publishers need to think about.The purpose of this study is providing development measures through the analysis of the status quo and problems of knowledge services for Chinese professional publishing enterprisesFirstly,the literature survey method was used to comb the concept of knowledge services and professional publishing,and knowledge life cycle theory and knowledge value chain theory were applied to the qualitative research of knowledge services of professional publishing enterprises.The basic process of knowledge services was constructed as the theoretical basis for the analysis of knowledge service products and models;the competitive advantage of knowledge services based on knowledge service capabilities was proposed,as a countermeasure for domestic professional publishing enterprises to solve difficulties and improve knowledge service levels.Secondly,we found out that most of the current research was case studies of a certain publishing enterprise or knowledge service product.Seldom focused on the overall appearance of knowledge services in domestic professional publishing companies.Therefore,this article conducted a quantitative study of domestic publishing companies.Combined knowledge life cycle theory with the qualitative analysis results,the characteristics of knowledge services providing by domestic professional publishing enterprises were analyzed.From the current state of knowledge service products,we summarized three basic models of professional publishers' knowledge services in China,namely the primary knowledge service of the knowledge content delivery model,the middle-level knowledge service of the solution model,and the advanced knowledge service of the knowledge ecosystem model.Among them,the knowledge ecosystem service model that promotes knowledge innovation and enlightenment wisdom is one of the innovation points in this study.Based on the above analysis,there are several problems in knowledge service of professional publishers.This paper argues that the knowledge service capability of domestic professional publishers is low.Furthermore,using the comparative analysis method,we selected RELX Group,Intellectual Property Publishing House and RUC Digital Media,and then compared and analyzed their knowledge service capabilities in four aspects:knowledge acquisition capability,knowledge organization capability,knowledge application capability and knowledge service supply capability.Through comparative analysis,we can provide reference for domestic professional publishers' knowledge service.Finally,according to knowledge-service value chain model,the corresponding improvement measures were proposed from the perspective of knowledge service capability to solve the dilemma of knowledge services,which included coopetition strategy of knowledge acquisition,optimization strategy of knowledge organization,innovation strategy of knowledge application and humanism strategy of knowledge service supply.This study looks forward that the domestic professional publishing enterprises can establish their awareness of innovation,service,user-thinking and people-oriented concepts,and enhance knowledge service capabilities to build competitive advantages in the knowledge economy market.
