Radio Frequency Identification(RFID)is a non-contact automatic identification technology that automatically recognizes target objects by sending RF signals and then obtains related data. With the rapid development of the Internet of Things(IoT),its core technique RFID has been applied to more and more domains, which generates massive data as a result. And how to collect the information we wanted from these massive data is now the focus of RFID researching. This paper mainly studies two kinds of information collection methods:the first one is Tag identification, and the collected information is the ID information of the tag, which is mostly used in object identification, identity verification and other fields. The second is Tag searching, the collected information is the existence information of the tag.It is usually used for searching of goods in storage, logistics and so on.This paper exhaustively introduces the development process of RFID,including its system composition and working principle,as well as relevant protocol standards and theoretical knowledge. Most importantly,it gives a detailed description of the relevant protocol algorithms of the existing tag information collection. The main research work in this paper is summarized as follows:(1)A Fast and efficient Tag Identification by Slot-Splitting-based protocol(Federal)is proposed. We develop Slot Splitting,a technique that can completely eliminate Reader-Tag(RT)collisions by synchronizing actions of readers. We also propose a reader selection algorithm that minimizes Reader-Reader(RR)collisions by selecting a reader set with maximum reading efficiency.Through extensive simulations and result analysis,it shows that Federal can reduce the reader scheduling time effectively and increase the system throughput compared with the state-of-the-art work.(2)We then put forward a Multiple Sets of synchronization Tag Searching protocols(MSTS).In this protocol,we design a fast grouping technology. In the first stage we group all the tags in interrogation region and quickly reduce its amount to provide an optimal searching environment for the second phase. In the second stage,we use the testing slot technology to quickly eliminate the no-target tags in the wanted tags for the purpose of fast searching.By analyzing the simulation results,we can see that the MSTS protocol outperforms existing tag searching protocol in both time and efficiency.
