With the rapid development of medical informationalization,more and more medical devices are connected to the Hospital Information System(HIS).The Picture Archiving and Communication System(PACS),as an important medium of medical imaging storage,plays an important role in the whole hospital diagnosis and treatment.As the technology develops at a high speed,however,the resolution of images becomes much higher and size of images becomes much larger.As one of the most important infrastructure,PACS designs complicated and costs high,and is difficult to upgrade.Due to the variety of ophthalmology equipments and the lack of standard,especially the larger image size compared to the other departments',the current PACS cannot reach the requirement for hospital image archiving.In order to solve the difficulties encountered in the implementation and between version change of the traditional PACS,especially ophthalmic PACS,Cloud Ophthalmic PACS(COP)emerges as the times require.People can upload the ophthalmic images to the server by "Uploader" and view the image on website "Viewer" in any time at any place on any device via a browser.In this system,the upload tool "Uploader" and the server are designed and implemented by Java language while the website "Viewer" is built by HyperText Markup Language(HTML),JavaScript and Cascading Style Sheet(CSS).During the communication procedure,an "SSLSocket"(Socket over Secure Sockets Layer)is implemented through a Finite State Machine(FSM).Also,a Hadoop Distributed File System(HDFS)is deployed on a storage cluster and it makes the storage space elastically extendable.After testing,the system is able to serve dozens of people at the same time with one server on a general personal computer and what if it ran on a real server cluster! The system can prevent most intermediaries from peeping and replacing data and protect sensitive data.The filesystem is capable to hot expand and hot backup without shutdown and poweroff and is more reliable of the data integrity and security.In this research,an ophthalmic image archiving and managing system on the cloud platform is implemented.This system needs no local storage devices,gets rid of upgrade difficulties,solves the problem of ophthalmic image transmission and offers a valuable implementation scheme for modern PACS.It is believed that this system will contribute to improving the geographical imbalance of medical resources one day.
