With the increasingly fierce global economic competition, the semiconductor manufacturing industry has become a technological leader in manufacturing and has owned an outstanding technological leadership. The semiconductor manufacturing industry is a highly-automated and continuous uninterrupted manufacturing high-tech enterprise,so it quite needs a solid safety foundation that guarantees continuous production. Therefore, the research on equipment safety management in semiconductor manufacturing industry will have a great practical significance and economic value.Based on the principles of intrinsic safety, energy accidental release theory and full life cycle theory, this paper proposes semiconductor manufacturing to achieve safety performance standards for equipment during the entire life cycle of design, operation and maintenance, reduce accident occurrence probability, and protect the health of operators. This essay established the concept of industrial equipment safety certification, and developed a safety requirements specification for equipment in the semiconductor manufacturing industry, also established a set of equipment safety certification process for the simple, convenient and easy operation. The equipment safety certification consists of necessary safety condition certification and full safety condition certification. The equipment is mainly subject to conformity certification of water, electricity, gas, mechanical protection, identification, and management. After the application of this research result in actual semiconductor companies,a large amount of actual data shows that equipment safety certification can effectively improve the reliability of the equipment and achieve an important significance in safe operation.
