Abstract/Summary:
The slotted waveguide array antenna is one of the antennas widely used in monopulse radar because of the advantages of high aperture efficiency,high power capability,low transmission loss,compact structure and manageable radiation pattern.In recent years,the substrate integrated waveguide(SIW)technology,which is a new type of waveguide-like structure,has been proposed.The substrate integrated waveguide is widely used in microwave devices design because it combines the advantages of the rectangular waveguide and microstrip circuit,such as light weight,low cost,compact structure and easier integration,etc.Therefore,a series of studies about the substrate integrated waveguide slotted array antenna and the feed network based on SIW have been done in this paper.The main works of the paper are as follows:Firstly,this paper summarizes the development of SIW monopulse antenna and SIW magic-T.And the synthesized theory of substrate integrated waveguide structure,single pulse antenna and waveguide slot are reviewed at the same time.The basic idea and research method of the presented monopulse antenna are supplied to enrich this paper.Secondly,the research of Ka-Band SIW broadband magic-T is carried out in this part and then the broadband H-T and E-T structures are designed,analyzed,processed and tested respectively.The experimental results verify the correctness of this design.Finally,a kind of circular aperture SIW Ka-Band monopulse array antenna consisting of a radiating layer,a coupling layer and a feeding layer is designed according to the integrated approach of circular aperture Taylor distribution and the impedance theory of waveguide slot.Then HFSS is employed to simulate and optimize the characteristics of this monopulse array antenna and the sum-difference network made of the Magic-T designed before.The simulation results verify the accuracy of the design,and it indicated that the designed Ka-Band SIW monopulse antenna has the characteristics of low sidelobes and high selectivity.
