The media spectacle theory is the unique depiction of contemporary western capitalist society features by the American contemporary Marxist Kellner on the basis of absorbing and drawing on the essence of many sages. In Kellner's view, the current advanced capitalist society has entered a new stage of development-technological capitalism. At this stage, the media spectacle has become one of the important principles in contemporary politics, economic activities and daily life. The details of our lives have almost been spectacleized by the media, and the form of capitalist control is also in a stance.Try to use the media spectacle to achieve more profound, more extensive, more lasting, more than imagined social shocks. This article sets out from the reality of the information and entertainment society of contemporary technology capitalism, takes a more in-depth understanding and interpretation of media spectacle as the main line, and carries out a relatively complete combing of Kellner's “media spectacle” theory, trying to answer “what is the media spectacle,How the media spectacle works and what impact it has on those areas,” is the subject of this article and the goal of this article. This article is divided into three parts. The first part is the first chapter, which mainly deals with two questions: Why do we need to theoretically study the spectacle of the media and the social context and theoretical sources generated by Kellner's "media spectacle" theory? The second part is the second chapter: the concrete presentation of Kellner's "Media Spectacles" theory, including the interpretation of the concept of "media spectacle",exploring the inner operating mechanism of the "media spectacle" and whether the social groups are surrounded by "media spectacle" What are the possible ways to break through? The third chapter: Summarizes Kellner's method in the criticism and study of "The Wonder of the Media".How this method is formed and developed. The first chapter mainly examines the background of the generation of media spectacle theory from the perspective of realistic context and ideological origin. The ever-changing media technology, the increasing integration of information andentertainment, and the highly-saturated media are important indications of contemporary developed society.Media spectacle has also been concocted and abused in new areas and fields. With the support of technology, these wonders have become increasingly beautiful.Diverse, sophisticated, but also more active and strong.Various phenomena show that contemporary capitalism has developed into a new phase of technological capitalism. This also became Kellner's realistic foundation for his concern with media culture.Whether it is McLuhan's "media or information",Baudrillard's concept of media and surrealism,or Debord's landscape society,it is of great significance to Kellner's media spectacle theory. The Frankfurt school and British cultural theory provided Kellner with a basic paradigm of ideology and audience research. The second chapter, after clarifying the basic concepts of the media spectacle, reveals the essence and basic characteristics of the media spectacle and conducts a detailed anatomy of its operating mechanism. The article points out that the media spectacle is a complex field, with both hegemonic and aggressive aspects of the aggressive side,as well as the possibility of audience resistance and resistance. The third chapter concretely shows how Kellner conducted the process of media spectacle criticism, which is the comprehensive application of diagnostic criticism and a multidisciplinary perspective. In the final concluding part of the paper,we summarize some features of Kellner's media spectacle theory, try to point out some possible deficiencies, and briefly analyze its implications for our domestic status.
