The Improvement In Wechat Health Communication Based On A Survey On The Aged

China has entered an aging society,but the old-age care and medical services provided to the elderly are far from perfect.At the same time,our country is in the process of rapid development of the information society;many elderly people are left behind by new things,in those areas the gap between the young generation and the elderly is significantly expanded.It is an important and urgent issue helping the elderly to adapt to information society as much as possible.This study aimed at elderly WeChat users manage to explore their contacts with and evaluation of health information on the WeChat,hoping to provide some suggestions for improving the health communication in the WeChat for the elderly.The survey found that elderly WeChat users believe that the health information in WeChat has certain value and they will adopt health improving skills that are suitable for use.Generally their critical literacy awareness of information are weak and they are pleased and ready to share health information with their friends and relatives.They prefer to accept health information in the form of video and believe that there are some problems in the health information in the WeChat platform,mainly due to serious marketing phenomenan and conflicting information in some healthy issues.The education factor of the elderly has a positive predictive effect on their information literacy,and on the frequency and selectivity in contacting with WeChat health information.Highly-educated eldery have more cautious use and evaluation of WeChat.Combining interviews with the elderly,the study analyzed the status quo and discovered the obstacles for the elderly to access the WeChat platform health information.There are mainly physical obstacles;WeChat operations is difficult;some elderly people lack the willingness to contact health information;and the ability of the elderly to identify false health information is not strong.Finally,the study tried to propose some methods to improve the health communication of the WeChat platform.
