Framework Analysis Of "Guardian" Environmental Pollution Data Journalism From The Perspective Of Risk Society

Under the combined effects of industrialization and urbanization,and with the help of nuclear radiation,genetically modified foods,and environmental pollution,social risks have moved from behind the scenes to the stage.Environmental pollution reports are directly related to human health and are important parts of risk society news reports.As a good use of data to indicate rationality in terms of volume,harm,and degree,environmental pollution fits well with data journalism.This year,the Queen of England promulgated a "plastic ban".At this historical moment,we reviewed the Guardian “Data Blog” environmental pollution data news,which was known for its openness and international communication,and analyzed how the mainstream media reported news on environmental pollution.It is beneficial for us to address the spread of environmental risks and to interpret data news under the perspective of risk society.This paper first collates the data news,framework theory,and risk dissemination literature,and summarizes the relevant theoretical definitions.In view of the framework theory,it analyses the contents of the relevant data reports on environmental pollution from the Guardian “Data Blog” from June 9,2016 to March 12,2018,combing out different types of pollution reporting frameworks.Although not deliberately constructed,the framework will subtly influence the judgment of the audience.The study found that Guardian “Data Blog” is authoritative and open to diversification of data sources in environmental pollution report;Prefers negative news report.Air pollution is the most concerned topic in the report,and plastic pollution can not be ignored.Under the background of environmental protection,the Guardian “Data Blog” covers the preservation of national interests when reporting environmental pollution data news,and is oriented to prevent and control risks.Therefore,in the future data news reports,the interests of the country should also be taken into consideration,and from a long-term perspective,the bridge of risk communication and communication with the audience should be made.
