The Group Anxiety And Complaining In Modern Communication

China is entering a period of national anxiety,according to an article in the China Daily.“National Anxiety” is a general description of the state of Chinese social psychology,and its essence is “group anxiety”.At the present stage,Chinese society is in the social transition period,which is an internationally recognized emergency period,and the group anxiety is inevitable.Group anxiety is not a unique social phenomenon in China.In history,the United States,South Korea and Japan have also experienced this phenomenon.It can be found that rapid economic development and social imbalance are the root causes of group anxiety.Group anxiety can lead to further social problems,such as frequent group events,group hostility(such as xenophobia)and nationalist movements.As Lewis Corse argued in The Function of Social Conflict,"conflict prevents the accumulation of blocked hostility by allowing the free expression of behavior." Group anxiety are the result of emotion accumulation,also is a kind of hostile tend to accumulate,in order to prevent destructive mass incidents happen,should be before the group anxiety level is destructive,to vent and relief.Group anxiety is characterized by its universality,potentiality and triggering,and it is stimulated by external emergencies,which can be expressed and caused wide public concern to form group events.In group events,group anxiety is mainly expressed in the form of complaint.Complaining behavior refers to the individual,or group in social activities,organization,and the main body to ease and eliminate because of objective things produced by stimulation of discontent and anxiety caused by the language or nonverbal behavior of vent.Complaining about the suppression and accumulation of impulsivity determines the insidious,shifting and substitutability of complaints.In modern communication,especially in the network communication environment,complaints are magnified,infectious,enlarged and uncontrollable.In the network society,complain primarily through WeChat,microblogging,blog,BBS and other network media platform,to ridicule,inciting echoes,views,and other forms,to spread.Complain about square effect refers to the network transmission environment,complaining behavior under the influence of group psychological commonalities spread rapidly,chord and cause others to take complained behavior or onlookers behavior group phenomenon.Mass incidents is complaining about square effect to form the trigger,group anxiety is complaining about square effect of social psychological factors,group psychological general character is the psychological basis of the formation of complain square effect,complained of metastatic and alternative is square effect to form the key,the network of universality and timeliness is complaining about square effect of environmental conditions.The nature of the complaint has two sides.On the one hand,complaining behavior is a kind of social conflict,exposing the opposing groups to the public,exposing social problems and impacting social stability.On the other hand,when the group complains about the social problems,it will always be accompanied by the rulers' solutions and actions to the exposed social problems,which will help the stability of the society.At the same time,complaining behavior expresses social group anxiety and dissatisfaction,vent group anxiety,defecate social negative energy,and play the role of social decompression.
