As the world's aging population is becoming more serious,more and more elderly people in the community need to be accompanied.In China,the number of empty nest elderly is increasing day by day,and it has become a serious social problem.Because the health situation is worrying,as well as the action of self-care ability,community service is not timely,and the lack of children to accompany around them,most of Empty Nester exist many security risks in the process of home care,especially sudden cardiovascular disease or accidental falls etc..In view of the above circumstances that may be encountered at home,a elderly escort system which can collect information on the activities of the elderly,monitoring the activities of the elderly.That can effectively protect the safety of the elderly.At the same time,a simple and easy way to operate the video chat can make the elderly at any time "face to face" with their children,that will let Empty Nester no longer feel lonely,and solve the problem that the children can not accompany by the side all the time.This paper mainly studies the design and implementation of two-way video transmission technology for the elderly accompany system.The main work is divided into the following points:(1)analyze the technical support needed for video data processing and video data transmission.Video data processing needs to use the DaVinci technology introduced by Ti company,V4L2 drive framework,video compression coding technology involving H.264 video coding standard,etc..Video data transmission involves related network transport protocols,including the RTP/RTCP protocol based on the TCP/UDP protocol.(2)design the overall framework of two-way video transmission for the elderly accompany system,including hardware platform and software framework.In this paper,the hardware platform of TMS320DM365 chip based on DaVinci technology designed and developed by Ti company is selected.TMS320DM365 chip supports high resolution video data acquisition and supports H.264 format video coding standard,which is very suitable for video data processing.At the same time,the chip has a rich external interface,good expansibility and strong performance.The software framework includes five parts:the DEV process of the application layer,the ENCODE process and the DECODE process,the DMAI driver and the Linux kernel.(3)design and implement the function of each module of the two-way video transmission technology of the elderly accompany system.Video bidirectional transmission includes video acquisition module,video coding module,video storage module,video transmission module,video receiving module and video decoding module.(4)a series of tests are carried out for the specific needs of the two-way video transmission technology for the elderly escort system.The content of the test includes the video data uplink and downlink packet loss rate and the effect of video playback.
