With the rapid progress of urbanization policy,the scientific management and maintenance of roads are becoming increasingly prominent.The current situation in China highway is physically spread out,change fast,large amount of data and other characteristics.For a long time,due to institutional and technical reasons,the traffic management department is not fully?meticulously?thoroughly aware of the basic situation of the road.It is difficult for them to implement scientific and comprehensive dynamic management of highway construction projects.A complete,real-time,high-precision road census acquisition system was forced to demand.Road surface and landscape data which provide decision-making basis for highway management can be collected and analyzed by the system.The existing mobile measuring vehicle has the disadvantages of high cost and large volume,and is not suitable for the rural road with narrow lanes and limited load.The design uses mobile measurement as the technical background.The acquisition system using vehicle mounted multi-sensor has many characteristics such as small size,light weight,low cost,and can meet the needs of the rural road information census.A multi-sensor data synchronous acquisition system was designed for road survey based on the actual needs of users.The system is divided into hardware module and the host computer's road image subsystem,landscape image subsystem,pavement roughness subsystem.A PIC24 family microcontroller is used as the hardware module control core,combined with GPS and high stability quartz crystal to establish high-precision time reference.Road surface data and landscape images can be collected by laser range finder?accelerometer?wheel encoder?monochrome and color camera.It provides raw data for image subsystem and pavement roughness subsystem of host computer.The pavement roughness subsystem uses acceleration value,mileage pulse,laser ranging data to analyze the movement state of the vehicle,and obtain the flatness of the road.The road image subsystem performs image algorithm processing on the pavement information taken by the monochrome camera to identify the disease(cracks,broken,pits,pollution,shadows,etc.)that locates the pavement.Landscape image subsystem locates and identifies the completion of the infrastructure(street lights,traffic signs,flower beds,etc.)by the color camera.The system is able to obtain and process the road information comprehensive and accurately.The test results show that multi-sensor data synchronous acquisition system based on GPS realizes synchronous acquisition and real-time upload of data for multi-sensor including camera?laser range finder?accelerometer?wheel encoder and so on.Experiments show that the system has good real-time performance,high precision and stability.It provides accurate and scientific data support for traffic management and maintenance of highway.
