Seemingly Harmonious

The word "Lao Bai Xing",according to Chinese Dictionary,means civilian and resident.Today,it also refers to the masses.However,the paraphrase in dictionary only reveals its static referent,the range of its definition actually changes depending on different contexts.Primary Scene is a civil news program made by Shenzhen TV station,which is famous for reporting civilian livelihood in a way known as authoritative,comprehensive and timely.Since its first launch on December 2,2002,the program has become part of the social life among the common people in Shenzhen.According to the latest satisfaction survey about self-produced programs in Shenzhen TV station,it ranks first for its popularity,audience expectation and satisfaction.However,does the program show the real civilian to the public?By comparing the program Primary Scene and the reality in Xixiang subdistrict,Baoan District,Shenzhen,we found that the image of "Lao Bai Xing" is seriously distorted in the program.The income level,occupational identity and living style showed in the program can not represent the majority in the society.The study of some typical cases shows that,the extreme "Lao Bai Xing" in the program is made out of imagination,while it is actually unadorned in real life.By further analyzing,the reason for this distortion may because only the "extreme civilian" and“extreme life" can attract most of the audience in the consumerism age.In Primary Scene,the civilian is unrealistic,the news report is divorced from the reality and the news dissemination diverges from the actual life.To shape real civilian in news program and accord "Lao Bai Xing" with the real one,we need to defend our ideals and obey occupation morals,care for people and deliver mainstream values,reach the grassroots and listen to their stories,research from multiaspect and make real news,change writing style and narrate the trifles truly.In this way,the civil news program can better reflect the actual life of common people and their requirement can be understand.Therefore,the news program can play a better part in serving the civilian and helping them solve their problems.
