As the global economy is gradually recovering from the strike of the financial collapse,the public is more and more intended to pay attention to the contributions made by those enterprises which might promote social development,instead of just focusing on the benefit.For which to be more materialized is the enterprises'performance of the corporate social responsibility.During the recent three decades,our national economy has been greatly flourishing and made stunning achievements,but along with the economic performance,the outcome of the CSR of our enterprises is far behind the world advanced level.The amount of those enterprises which consider their own benefits to be more important than the environment is still huge.This kind of strategy means to sacrifice the social benefit for better financial situation and it is totally against the general development theme of the world,which reflects the reality that quite a lot of our enterprises are lack of the consciousness of CSR.This situation shows it is urgent for us to encourage more enterprises volunteer to be better performers of CSR.Publishing companies,a very important part of the national economy,have not only a lot of general characteristics,but also some traits which are quite unique.The whole publishing industry is not supposed to pursue only the financial benefits but should put the social benefits at the first place,which is decided by the dual attributes of its own products—the publications.This very situation requires more particularities of CSR achieving for the publishing companies.But,to view the publishing industry of our country,most of them are not willingly or positively delivering their CSR reports,indicates the companies are not considering the CSR performance as a very crucial part of their daily operation.Among the CSR reports which are published by our publishing companies,most of them have no integrated structure,and the information released in the reports is also not complete covered.Those problems make the reports in poor quality.To analyze this circumstance,it is easy to find out there are two basic reasons leaded to it.Firstly,the publishing companies attach enough importance to the CSR and the reports related.Secondly,there is no CSR reporting frame especially for the publishing industry,which made the publishing companies not able to deliver better and more specific reports even if they want to.This research concentrates on the problems of the CSR reports which were published by our publishing companies and with the study and analysis of the CSR reports from the German publishing group Axel Springer,tries to give a new CSR reporting frame which fits the attributes of Chinese publishing industry,as absorbing some advantages from the experience of the Axel Springer group and adjusting them to fit the Chinese national condition better.Especially the setting of the objective pattern would lead the publishing companies to set highly specific targets of the CSR performance.With the new,industry-fitting reporting frame,it might be more convenient for the Chinese publishing companies to compile their CSR reports and encourage the whole industry dedicates to the improvement of the CSR performance.This thesis includes four main parts.The first part as the foundation of the research contains the first two chapters,is the collection and integration of the literature related to the CSR,CSR of publishing industry and CSR reporting.In the second part,the current situation of publishing industry CSR is being analyzed,along with the problems showed up during the analysis.By studying the CSR reports of the German publishing group Axel Springer,the research finds out some advantages could be used by the Chinese publishing industry.The third part brings out the new,publishing-industry-fitting CSR report frame,which is considering both the essence of the publishing companies as"enterprises" and the unique part of this unique industry.Especially the upgrade and detailing of the objective pattern could help the publishing companies cultivate a better habit on CSR reporting.According to the problems and current situations of the publishing companies' CSR performance,the last part,the forth,puts forward some solutions and advises.
