With the development of the Internet for the various sectors of the industry,as well as cloud computing,big data,networking and other technology applications,data traffic is continuing rapid growth.Large capacity of the business needs a flexible upper / lower optical network,operators on the network capacity,efficiency,flexibility,demand is stil rising.For the future development,technology and market,the next generation of wavelength independent,regardless of the direction,competition independent,flexible grid reconfigurable multiplexer technology becomes the core technology of intelligent optical network module,in order to avoid competition with group switch light wavelength(MCS,Multicast Switch),which introduced the insertion loss and mixing erbium doped fiber amplifier array of optical power compensation for it becomes one of the essential devices.This kind of application background requires that the amplifier array has the characteristics of small package size,low power consumption,fast response,flexible control,good noise performance,good transient performance and so on.In this paper,we first introduce the development and research status of reconfigurable technology,and emphatically introduce the application background of erbium doped fiber amplifier array.The basic composition and basic control method of the amplifier array is discussed.The design method of the fiber amplifier array is pointed out.The independent,transient performance,reliability,device size and power consumption are considered,and the EDFA scheme is adopted.On the basis of the transient control structure of EDFA,the PID algorithm is introduced to improve the transient performance of the optical amplifier.The influence factor of the gain slope is explored by using the EDFA method.In order to reduce the power consumption of the pump laser,the power consumption of the pump laser is controlled by the control algorithm without affecting the normal operation of the pump.On the hardware circuit control,the micro control unit,field programmable gate array and complex programmable logic device are used to improve the performance of the amplifier.Finally,according to the experimental results,the performance indexes of the designed modules have been proved to be in accordance with the requirements of the third generation wavelength independent,direction independent,competitive and flexible grid.At the same time,the EDFA array is integrated with the device MCS in the ROADM structure,which makes the EDFA array and MCS device play a key role in the ROADM optical network.
