In the age of information,resources has become an important strategic resource of knowledge economy society.With the development of the Internet,huge information facilitate people to work,life and studies,and at the same time,people are flooded by huge information.Therefore,how to efficient organization,management,storage and maintenance of the information resources and provide high quality information service for people is becoming an important and urgent work.Ontology is a formal explicit representation of concepts in a domain.Its purpose is to capture the relevant domain knowledge to build models,extract common recognition vocabulary,describe attributes and constraint characteristic,and formal description.It provides an effect way to solve the problems and it has already drew much attention of the researchers worldwide.Furthermore,ontology construction is one of the most important research directions.Currently,ontology construction method is broadly divided into three categories: manual build,semi-automated build and automated build.Manual building ontology is dependent on many expert in the field to participation,artificial selection and build concepts and concept's relationship.This method has a high accuracy,but requires a lot of manpower and time,it is inefficient.Semi-automatic construction of ontology is achieving simple operation like segmentation,POS tagging through computer automatic recognition.But analyze and understand the complex work like semantic still need to rely on experts.This method improves efficiency in some extent,but artificial still bear most of the work,can not meet the needs of information technology development.Ontology automated building will be become the main research direction.It makes the information theory and data mining into the ontology automatically building,effectively improve the efficiency.However,because of this method rely on technical performance,concept accuracy is not high and poor relationship,and so on.Based on the above theoretical basis,this paper in order to solve the semi-automatic ontology construction work which in human intervention.Firstly discusses about the basic theoretical knowledge of ontology and thesaurus,by comparison shows the difference and connection between them,According thesaurus and ontology's relationship,converting thesaurus to ontology.In this way,will improve the reuse of knowledge,but also reduces the amount of manual involvement.Then study the ontology construction situation at home and abroad,familiar with the knowledge of agricultural science thesaurus,using the current latest OWL ontology description language,put forward construct domain ontology based on thesaurus.Through determining the scope of the field,extracting the core concepts,adding the property of concept,adding constraints of concepts,storing in OWL,achieving thesauri transformation to the domain ontology.Finally,“agricultural science thesaurus” for example,implementing agricultural science thesaurus and relation into ontology,and evaluation it in accuracy rate and recall rate two indicators,indicating this method can not only improve the efficiency of ontology construction,reduce the participation of artificially constructed,can also improve retrieval efficiency and knowledge reuse.
