In order to adapt to the development of the new era and meet the challenges in the future,all countries in the world attach great importance to the education of science and technology engineering and the effective training of innovative talents.At present,under the influence of examination oriented education,high school chemistry teaching basically adopts teaching method,which is difficult to stimulate students' interest in learning,and is not conducive to the cultivation of problem-solving ability and innovation awareness;secondly,chemistry,as a central discipline infiltrating with other disciplines,is not conducive to the cultivation of students' comprehensive ability through branch based teaching.In this context,STEM Education originated in the United States,as a new educational concept,has gradually entered people's vision.In order to carry out STEM Education more effectively,ITEEA put forward the activity mode of implementing stem education in 2014—6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model.The model is divided into six teaching stages: Engagement,Exploration,Explanation,Engineering,Elaboration and Evaluation.STEM Education and 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model both emphasize that students use interdisciplinary knowledge in real situations,and actively complete scientific exploration,independent design and engineering production,so as to cultivate problem-solving ability and innovation awareness.Therefore,this study will apply the STEM based 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model to the practice of senior high school chemistry teaching activities,with chemistry as the main subject,supplemented by other subject knowledge,to guide students to comprehensively use the knowledge of each subject in chemistry courses to solve practical problems,hoping to effectively promote the learning of Chemistry and the cultivation of STEM Literacy.For this reason,the main contents of this study are as follows:(1)Using the literature research method,this paper reviews the research status of 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model and STEM education at home and abroad,and defines the concepts of 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model,STEM Education and STEM Literacy;(2)Through the analysis of the characteristics of chemistry,the core literacy of chemistry,the principles of modern chemistry teaching,the common teaching mode of chemistry teaching and Based on the 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model ofSTEM,this paper analyzes the feasibility of the application of the 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model of STEM in senior high school chemistry teaching;(3)combined with the connotation of STEM Education concept,according to the six teaching stages of the 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model,it puts forward the specific teaching steps of the application of the mode in senior high school chemistry teaching;(4)continuously revised and completed through three rounds of teaching practice activities Good at teaching activity design.After teaching practice,through the collection,collation and analysis of relevant data such as test questions,questionnaire survey,classroom observation and student interviews,the effectiveness of the STEM based 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model for students' chemical discipline learning and STEM Literacy training is verified.Results and conclusions of this study:(1)Based on the analysis of the characteristics of chemistry,the core accomplishment of chemistry,the principles of chemistry teaching and the common teaching modes,it is concluded that it is feasible to apply the 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model based on STEM to chemistry teaching in senior high school;(2)This research designs nine teaching steps of applying STEM based 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model to senior high school chemistry teaching: Situation Introduction,Knowledge Link,Inquiry Design,Exhibition Communication,Knowledge Summary,Engineering Design,Exhibition Communication,Thinking Extension and Evaluation Test;(3)After three rounds of teaching practice,it is found that through the application of STEM based 6E Learning by DeSIGNTM Model in senior high school chemistry teaching,in the aspect of chemistry learning achievement: it is conducive to stimulate students' interest in chemistry learning and have a positive impact on chemistry academic performance;in the aspect of STEM learning achievement:Students' interest in STEM course is significantly increased,and they realize that STEM course has an impact on individuals and the importance of social development;(4)As the thinking ability needs to be cultivated and internalized for a long time,but my teaching experience is insufficient,plus the limitations of teaching hours and implementation conditions,so this study has not significantly improved the students' chemical thinking ability and STEM thinking ability for the time being.
