Van Hiele theory was put forward by Dutch scholars Van Hiele and his wife, which aims at the problems faced in geometry teaching.Since the new curriculum reform is carried out in our country, geometry teaching has also attracted the attention of many educators and experts. As the most common and important teaching medium, the geometry textbooks in the junior high school are worthy of in-depth study. In the paper, based on Van Hiele theory on geometric thinking levels, the "graphics and geometry" comparison of textbook published by People's Education Press and textbook published by Beijing Normal University Press is studied by the qualitative and quantitative methods. The specific contents are as follows:First, based on Van Hiele theory on geometric thinking levels,"Textbook Analysis Index Based On VanHiele Theory"(hereafter referred to as "Index")was compiled. And its reliability and validity were verified, which provides the basis for the comparison of "graphics and geometry" in the two versions of textbook.Second, according to the "Index",the structure of the "graphics and geometry" in the two versions of the textbook is summarized. For the knowledge in the "mathematics Curriculum Standard For Compulsory Education(2011 Edition)",the geometric thinking levels presented by the two versions of textbook are analysized qualitatively and compared.Third, according to the "Index",for the contents shown by the chapters of "graphics and geometry" in the two versions of the textbook, the proportion on different geometric thinking levels are counted and analysized.Using fuzzy evaluation theory, the geometric thinking levels presented by the two versions of textbook are analysized quantatively and compared from the three dimensions of different grades. In the paper, following conclusions can be drawn: For the contents of the two versions of textbook, the distribution of geometric thinking levels in different grades is similar. For the arrangement of the two versions of textbook, the order of geometric thinking levels is shown. For the contents of the two versions of textbook, the differences of transition is reflected. This study not only embodies the application of fuzzy mathematics and mathematics education, but also provides a new method for the further study of Van Hiele theory on geometrial thinking levels.
