Self-control is not only the embodiment of individual subjective initiative,but also the prerequisite for middle school students to form a good personality.Good self-control ability is very important for individuals to successfully adapt to society.Guided by the professional knowledge of social work,this study takes the rural junior middle school students of L middle school in X city of Sichuan Province as the research object,and conducts a questionnaire survey through the interview method and the questionnaire of middle school students' self-control ability,to understand the current situation and existing problems of the rural junior middle school students' self-control ability in L middle school,and to assess their needs to improve their self-control ability.Under the guidance of cognitive behavior theory and rational emotion theory,eight group activities were carried out from the three dimensions of thinking self-control,emotion self-control and behavior self-control,mainly involving the stimulation of internal motivation,improvement of self-efficacy,formulation of self-control objectives,understanding and expression of emotions,strict time management,and improvement of learning efficiency.In the specific practice process,social workers respect the subject status of the service object,use the advantage perspective to stimulate the potential of the service object,pay attention to the self exploration and value experience of the service object,help the service object gradually develop a good habit of self-control,and realize the improvement of self-control ability.Finally,the research uses the scale to compare before and after,and evaluates the service effect of this group activity combined with the satisfaction survey and interview of group members on group activity and social workers.The results show that the self-control ability of rural junior middle school students in L middle school is in the middle level,and there is still a lot of room for improvement.The self-control ability of junior high school students is significantly different in grade and gender,among which the self-control ability of junior high school students is the highest,the self-control ability of junior high school students is in the middle,the self-control ability of junior high school students is the lowest,and the self-control ability of female students is higher than that of male students.L middle school rural junior high school students need to improve their self-control ability,but there is a lack of reasonable and effective methods,so the intervention of social work is necessary and possible.Through the intervention of group work methods,the level of self-control ability of group members has been significantly improved,and the intervention of social work is effective in improving the self-control ability of rural junior middle school students.
