With the development of society,more and more rural population began to work in the city,there was a growing number of left-behind children.Because of lack of care from parents,more and more left-behind children had been sent to the boarding school to study and live.However,the qualities of boarding schools were different,coupled with the special psychological,behavioral characteristics that formed in the left-behind children's early life,it might be difficult for some left-behind children to adapt to boarding school life,especially for the first grade left-behind children who leave their families to enter the boarding school to study and live for the first time.By selecting the first grade students in A primary school in Shangqiu Henan province as the research objects,I got a detailed information about the first grade students through using the method of interview,observation,rating scale.On the basis of professional analysis of the information,we found that The the left-behind children had more questions in terms of school adaptation,which were focused on these aspects,such as life adaptation,academic adaptation,behavior adaptation,emotional adaptation and interpersonal adaptation,contrast with the non-left-behind children.On the basis of the discovery of reasons of these problems,I used the group work method and the case work method at the same time to intervene into the problems of the first-year left-behind children.In addition to selecting a specific object for case intervention,there were still three main groups that uses group work method to improve the level of first-year left-behind children' school adaption who scored lower grades and poorly performed before.the three groups included a life-independent group for children with poor self-care for their lives,a psychological adaptation group for children with poor academic adaptation,a learning mutual help group for children with poor emotional adaptation.After that,the effect of social work intervention was evaluated.practice had proved social workers could help first grade left-behind children in rural boarding primary school out of the status of poor school adaption based on using group work method and the case work method in coordinaton.Finally,the practice of social work was summarized and rethought with the purpose of providing some reference for the same scholars.
