The Study About The Cultivation Malposition Between Professional Master And Academic Master Based On Dissertation Analysis

Currently,there are two types of postgraduate training in China's institutions of higher learning,which are professional master and academic master.However,“academicalization training for professional master” and “professionalism training for academic master” are usually incorrectly positioned.The career-oriented training and academy-oriented training have to be precisely positioned by master supervisors so as to achieve their training objectives,which are totally different between professional master and academic master.As students enrolled for professional master program increase year by year,the incorrect positioning of training is becomingly increasingly serious.In order to reduce the possibility of incorrect positioning,it is extremely important to seize the opportunity of “Double First-Class Universities and Disciplines Plan” launched in China and construct training modes for professional master and academic master in the new era so as to ensure the harmonious development of master training quality and the relationship between supervisors and master students.And it is also necessary to analyze and study the reasons why training is incorrectly positioned and how serious it is.By comparing the dissertation form and standard between full-time professional master and academic master,this study proposes the classification and evaluation criteria for the academic dissertation of professional master and academic master for computerrelated majors from six aspects,i.e.research purpose,research area,research method,paper framework,innovative ideas as well as scientific research projects and results.And we read through 2,825 academic dissertations of computer-related majors supervised by 243 supervisors in three universities from the year of 2009 to 2017.Each dissertation is then respectively quantitatively scored in six aspects based on above criteria.The number of vertical and horizontal subjects involved during master program listed at the end of dissertations and the number of the academic dissertations of professional master students and academic master students supervised by supervisors that year are collected.The weighted average score of each academic dissertation in six aspects is calculated as the overall rating of the dissertations for professional master and academic master to determine whether the academic dissertation is included in professional master program or academic master program.Two scores are then compared.If dissertation is inconsistent with the type of professional master or academic master that it is originally oriented at,it will be considered as the incorrect positioning of training.The research results indicate that training is incorrectly positioned among students of different years,universities and majors.Among them,the academic orientation of training for professional master is relatively stronger,which has been increasing year by year from the year of 2009 to 2017.However,the career orientation of training for academic master has been weakened year by year.Based on the contents of academic dissertation,this study proposes the research hypothesis that the incorrect positioning of academic dissertation is correlated with history of professional master program,the number of horizontal subjects that master students participate in,the number of vertical subjects that master students participate in,the number of the academic dissertations for professional master students by supervisors that year,and the number of the academic dissertations for academic master students supervised by supervisors that year.The hypothesis is further tested through binary logistic regression analysis.The results indicate that in terms of the academic dissertations for professional master program,the number of horizontal subjects that master students participate in and the number of the academic dissertations for professional master students by supervisors that year are positively correlated with the incorrect positioning value(Y1=1)of academic dissertation for professional master while history of professional master program,the number of vertical subjects that master students participate in and the number of the academic dissertations for academic master students supervised by supervisors that year are all negatively correlated with incorrect positioning value(Y1=1)of academic dissertation for professional master.In terms of the academic dissertations for academic master program,history of professional master program and the number of vertical subjects that master students participate in are positively correlated with the incorrect positioning value(Y2=1)of academic dissertation for academic master while the number of horizontal subjects that master students participate in is negatively correlated with the incorrect positioning value(Y2=1)of academic dissertation for academic master.However,the number of the academic dissertations for professional master students and academic master students by supervisors that year has no significant impact on the incorrect positioning value(Y2=1)of academic dissertation for academic master.By analyzing the academic dissertation of computer-related majors in three universities,this study proposes countermeasures and suggestions for reducing the possibility of supervisors' incorrectly positioned trainings for professional master and academic master: firstly,alleviate supervisors' structural contradictions;secondly,optimize two-way management between master students and supervisors;thirdly,clarify the differentiated training methods for professional master and academic master;fourthly,reasonably allocate professional master and academic master students under the guidance of the same tutor;fifthly,scientifically arrange training programs for master students based on professional master and academic master degrees,and lastly,improve the evaluation system of academic dissertation quality.
