Objective: Taking 20 table tennis players in Beijing as experimental objects, this study is to explore the influence of functional strength training on the agility quality of table tennis players,to test whether functional strength training and traditional strength training have positive effects on the agility quality of table tennis players, and to test whether functional strength training is superior than traditional strength training in improving the agility quality of table tennis players. Methods: In this study, the subjects were randomly divided into two groups, experimental group and control group. The training plan design, training content and test index were determined by literature review, interview and questionnaire. Before the experiment, the basic information of the subjects was collected, and the agility quality indexes were tested to ensure that there was no significant difference between the two groups. The experimental group and control group were respectively given 8 weeks of functional strength training and traditional strength training,?The agility indexes of the two groups were tested and recorded, and the data were analyzed. Results: After eight weeks of the experiment, the test results of agility indexes in the experimental group and the control group were improved.(1)Six corner ball agility test: There was significant difference between the test results before and after the experiment in the experimental group(P < 0.05).There was no significant difference between the test results before and after the experiment in the control group(P > 0.05).There was significant difference between the test results of the experimental group and the control group after the training(P < 0.05).(2)Across-repeatedly agility test: There was significant difference(P < 0.05)in the test results before and after the experiment in the experimental group, but there was no significant difference(P > 0.05)in the control group, and there was significant difference(P < 0.05)in the test results between the experimental group and the control group after the training.(3)T-type running agility test: There was significant difference between the test results before and after the experiment in the experimental group(P < 0.05).There was significant difference between the test results before and after the experiment in the control group(P < 0.05).There was significant difference between the test results of the experimental group and the control group after the training(P < 0.05).(4)Prostrate-get up agility test: There was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group before and after the experiment(P > 0.05).There was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group after the training(P < 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Functional strength training can significantly improve the table tennis players' opening and closing agility performance, and has a better training effect on their ability of changing movement, coordination and direction.(2)Traditional strength training can significantly improve the test results of table tennis players' closing agility index T-type running, can significantly improve the ability of table tennis players to change direction, has no significant effect on the improvement of other closing agility and opening agility test results, and has no significant effect on the improvement of table tennis movement mobilization change ability and coordination ability.(3)To some extent, both functional strength training and traditional strength training can improve the agility of table tennis players.Compared with traditional strength training, functional strength training is better in improving the opening and closing agility performance.
