Establishing a high-quality professional team of early years teachers is the focus of developing infant care services in China.Research on the occupational standards of early years teachers,that is,a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the composition of early years teachers ' professional competence,is also a key issue for the construction of teachers.This study is based on the experiences and lessons of occupational standards for early years teachers and other related policies in developed countries such as the United States,the United Kingdom,Australia,and Japan,as well as current status of professional development of early years teachers in China.Researchers conducted semi-structured interviews with different types of early education stakeholders,and adopted Delphi's expert consultation evaluation method to conduct two rounds of correspondence among 14 early education experts,and attempted to construct a three-level indicator system for the occupational standards of early years teachers under the age of three in China from three aspects,including professional ethics and professional concepts,professional knowledge,and professional skills.The establishment of early years teachers' occupational competence standards helps to promote the professional development of early years teachers,and at the same time,it can maintain the long-term and stable development of China's infant care services for children under 3 years old.
