Geometric recognition is an important part of the development of children’s mathematics education activities,but it is an abstract and general expression of the external shape of the objective things.The geometric recognition of the children affects them The ability to identify and differentiate objects in the objective world,as well as their spatial perceptual ability and the development of preliminary spatial imagination,thus laying a foundation for further geometric follow-up study.Building block games belong to the kindergarten area activities in the construction area belonging to an important way of play,is a basic activity of pre-school children and learning methods.Building blocks play an important role in promoting the development of children’s physical and mental aspects.In the process of building blocks,the early development of children’s health,science,language,society,art and other disciplines can be promoted accordingly.As the building blocks of the game material is highly open,low structural characteristics,so that children in the building blocks when the game,carrying the task of its mathematical learning.And the building blocks of different shapes,different sizes,children building blocks game activities to promote children’s geometric recognition is feasible.Therefore,this study attempts to explore the characteristics of geometric recognition of children aged 5-6 years and whether building blocks play a role in promoting the cognitive geometry of young children.In this study,the experimental method was adopted,and the subjects were selected in Heze City,Shandong Province.There were fewer activities in the park and there were fewer 56 community children aged 5-6 years.Control group and experimental group,the experimental group of young children to accept building block game intervention,the control group of children for routine activities.The experimental data were analyzed before and after the experiment.The experimental results showed that:building blocks can promote the development of children’s geometric recognition.
