Research On The Connection Of Mathematics Learning In Junior And Senior High School

During daily work,we often see and hear mathematics teachers expressing a phenomenon: some students got high scores in their middle school entrance mathematics examination,but perform poor in senior one in senior high school.What's the reason? This research mainly focuses on the reasons for the decline of students' mathematics grades from junior high school to senior high school.It analyzes the reasons from four aspects,textbook layout,mathematics teachers' teaching methods,students' learning methods and parents' management.Then,raising countermeasures to explain the mathematics learning connection between junior high school and senior high school.This study uses questionnaire,interview,comparative analysis and case study.The questionnaire consists of three parts: 1)student-part(students' self-knowledge,teachers' teaching methods,and parents' management);2)teacher-part(teachers' self-situation,students' learning situation,and teaching methods);3)parent-part(parents' self-information,children management,and communication with teachers).In this study,teachers,students and their parents of senior high school mathematics group were selected from No.42 middle school in Chongqing.18 responses were collected from teachers,450 responses were collected from students,and 390 responses were collected from parents.The interviewees include students and teachers,in order to fulfill the questionnaire.After analyzing the data of teachers' teaching methods,students' learning methods and parents' management methods,take research of teaching materials and literature searching.Further,comparing the layout of teaching materials,teachers' teaching methods,students' learning methods and parents' management between junior high school and senior high school.Finally finds out the reasons for the decline of mathematics grade when graduated from junior high school.The results of this survey were listed in following paragraph.1)there is a close connection in textbook layout between junior high school and senior high school.Study in senior high school is a comprehensive deepening of study in junior high school.However,some common knowledge points in senior high school are just simply understood in junior high school.Therefore,a knowledge gap emerged between junior high school and senior high school;2)the teaching methods of junior high school teachers are diversified and interesting,which can stimulate students' initiative in learning mathematics.On the other hand,the teaching methods of senior high school are quite single and boring,which emphasis on mathematics mind training for students.So,it is difficult for students with poor mathematics foundation to understand;3)as junior high school students,listening to the teachers in mathematics classes carefully,finishing all the homework after classes,and repeating enough mathematics exercises will complete mathematics study efficiently.While in senior high school,after mastering basic knowledge in classes,students are also need to actively explore and research by themselves to keep up with the teachers.Self-learning is the key ability in senior high school;4)in junior high school,students is relatively young,and the management of parents is generally strict,especially in junior three.Senior high school study is the exact time when they enter the rebellious period.The management from parents changes from strict to carefree,and parents are looking forward to management from schools and teachers.Family education appears slack period.Around this problem,this research combines the teaching practice experience of the front line,meanwhile,it also absorbs many excellent research results from experts and scholars,trying to put forward countermeasures for the decline of mathematics grades when graduated from junior high school: 1)teacher level: junior high school classes actively build a bridge for senior high school learning.When senior high school mathematics teachers explain senior high school knowledge,they review junior high school knowledge and connect junior high school mathematics study;diversify the teaching methods,and gradual learning is achieved inclasses by using multiple modes such as learning guidance interaction,flipped classes,layered teaching,etc.;2)student level: preview,listen to class,and review.Strengthen the revision of wrong problem set;detailed and orderly classes notes,and construct a knowledge framework;improve the ability of independent learning,so as to draw inferences from one example;3)parent level: strengthen both home and school contact,pay more attention to children's growth and development;let go and exercise children's self-management ability at the same time,so as to achieve "home-school consistency".Combined with the author's teaching design cases and classes teaching records,the actual effect proves that the solution of the mathematical convergence proposed in this study is practical and effective.
