At present,China is the one of the countries with the fastest growth in aging. As of the end of 2018,the number of elderly people aged 60 and above in China has reached 249 million. At the same time, the number of the elderly with dementia in our country is also increasing. The government and all sectors of the society are very concerned about the group of the elderly with dementia, but they often ignore caregivers who silently provide services behind them. The long-term care work puts great pressure on the caregivers, which not only affects the physical and mental health of the caregiver, but also affects the quality of life of the entire family. To better understand the physical condition and the individual needs of caregivers for the elderly with dementia, the current stress of caregivers for the elderly with dementia was analyzed. The Zarit Burden Interview was used to assess the stress of the client, and a set of individualized service plan was developed, and some feasible suggestions were provided to relieve the stress of the caregiver. In this study, grandfather Y,spouse of an elderly person with dementia, was taken as an example, and Maslow's demand theory and social support theory were used as the theoretical basis. The interview method, the participation observation method and the scale method were used to provide ten intervention services for the client. When accepting the case, the relevant personnel established a good professional relationship with the client and gained the client's full trust. It was concluded that the client's pressure come from four aspects: physical, psychological, social and caring, and the client's needs were evaluated. In the process of intervention, the individual, family and society of the client were involved.By linking resources, the client recovers health and learns about care, which reduces the pressure of the client. Finally, after the completion of the intervention objectives, the case was successfully concluded. After the end of the service, the client was followed up twice to deepen the existing changes of the client. The effectiveness of this case service is better. The pressure of the client has been alleviated in all aspects, indicating that the method of case work is effective in reducing the pressure of caregivers for the elderly with dementia, and it can provide some feasibility reference for the practical research of social work in this field. |
