With the increasingly prominent problem of population aging in China, the impact of geriatric diseases on the elderly and their families is becoming more and more concerned by the public. As a degenerative disease, dementia is more common in the elderly group, and its long course, complicated symptoms and irreversible cause many troubles to elderly patients and their families. The vast majority of dementia is currently incurable, and the course of the disease in the elderly with dementia lasts for an average of 8 to 12 years, and the cognitive ability of the elderly will continue to deteriorate during the process of disease. In the face of the uncertain development of the demented elderly and the stereotypical prejudice against dementia diseases, family caregivers of the demented elderly may not only have social withdrawal due to the prejudice of the surrounding environment against dementia, but also lose their time because of the heavy care tasks. In the long run, family caregivers of the elderly with dementia are very prone to physical and psychological problems, and often face huge physical pressure, psychological pressure, social interaction pressure and moral pressure.Alleviating the pressure of family caregivers of the elderly with dementia and improving the quality of their care can help delay the degeneration process of the elderly with dementia and help the physical and mental health of home caregivers. In this study, the cases of family caregivers of the elderly with dementia were selected, and the case work intervention was carried out for their care pressure problems. The author uses participatory observation methods and other research methods to collect, summarize and sort out the basic data of the case service objects, take the "stress evaluation and response" theory of Richard S.Lazarus and Susan Folkman as the problem analysis and service design framework, and use the common process mode of case work to design case plans and carry out case services under the premise of following the value ethics of social work, after the collection, analysis and collation of case data,A five-phase case service plan was developed for case clients. After establishing a professional relationship with the clients of the case, the author used cognitive therapy to carry out "emotion-centered" stress relief services and "task-centered" stress relief services using the "task center model" to carry out "focusing on solving care problems".In the process of service, help the case service recipients correct the distorted automatic thinking, establish positive beliefs to alleviate their anxiety, and explore non-drug care skills with the service recipients, from the perspective of exploring the life history of the elderly with dementia and alleviating the mental and behavioral symptoms of the elderly with dementia, help the service recipients connect social resources, improve their own care capabilities, and relieve the pressure caused by caring for the elderly with dementia from multiple dimensions. This study describes and analyzes the important links in the case service process, and shows the utility of specific service methods for case work such as cognitive therapy. The service effect was tested through the post-scale test and the self-evaluation of the case service object, and the intervention skills and ethical issues in the research process were reflected.Reviewing the entire research process, practical suggestions are put forward for social workers to establish and improve the support strategy for the elderly with dementia and alleviate the pressure on the care of elderly caregivers with dementia.
