The textbook illustration in the junior middle school textbooks edited by the Ministry of Education is worth concerning,which is one kind of valuable curriculum resources Through the used methods such as literature review,investigations,case study and so on,this study reveals that when it comes to the application of illustrations,the textbooks edited by the Ministry of Education is more appropriate and effective than those edited by the People's Education Press or the Phoenix Education Publishing.However,due to the teachers and students' low awareness of illustrations and their usage,the impact of modern media technology and the problems of illustrations themselves,non-using or mis-using of textbook illustrations,and abusing those which are out of textbooks still exist.Based on this,there are some recommendations for the teachers and also the students.The teachers ought to have positive attitudes towards the textbook illustrations and pay attention to prepare the illustrations for assisting teaching content.With the teachers' sufficient guidance,the students are supposed to connect the textbook illustrations with the real life,use the critical thinking and dare to come up with the potential problems in the illustrations Ultimately,focus on the application of textbook illustrations in reading teaching:1)stimulate the students' reading expectations during the introduction part;2)push to achieve the teaching goals and breakthrough the key points and difficulties;3)improve the students'literacy and abilities from multiple aspects during the conclusion part. |
