As an indispensable part of history textbooks,illustrations are not only the main part of the text auxiliary system of history textbooks,but also an important resource of history teaching and an inportant way of teaching history.The vivid and interesting graphic design in textbooks plays an important role in helping students to understand,expand and deepen the content on the text.Therefore,it is very important to make good use of textbook illustrations.In recent years,the theoretical research on illustrations in history textbooks has achieved corresponding results,However,in the actual history teaching,the effect of illustration teaching is not ideal,and the function and value of illustration have not been reflected.The traditional cognitive concept of "history first,picture second,has been playing a dominant role in the development of history teaching in middle schools.There are some problems and deficiencies in the interpretation and selection of history textbook illustrations by teachers or middle school students.In particular,junior high school students who have just been exposed to historical knowledge have no basic methods of learning historical knowledge and lack of knowledge base.Therefore,they have big problems in the interpretation and application of illustrations.However,the first step of their history learning is to perceive history,especially for the study of ancient Chinese history.The illustrations in textbooks are an important resource for them to perceive history and an important way to learn hi story.Thus,The article selects the historical textbook illustrations in the seventh grade of "Chinese History" as the research window.On the basis of previous studies,it investigates and analyzes the problems existing in the selection and use of illustrations by teachers and students.The problems and shortcomings have proposed corresponding solutions and basic guidance and method guidance for providing certain textbook illustrations.The first part is mainly based on the angles of different types of textbooks and the perspective of history teaching.It analyzes the main functions of textbook illustrations,as well as the classification of historical textbook illustrations.Based on the classification,the selected seventh grade book is selected.The history textbook illustrations were counted.The second part mainly discusses the selection of textbook illustrations in the history teaching of junior high school,including the problems and deficiencies in the selection and application of history textbooks by teachers and students.The survey is conducted in the form of teacher interviews and student questionnaires.The interview results of the interviewed teachers and the results of the survey data of the students were analyzed and statistically analyzed.The third part is mainly based on the survey results,analysis and summary of teachers and students in the selection of history textbook illustration problems and deficiencies,respectively for teachers and students put forward the corresponding countermeasures.The fourth part is mainly based on the analysis of the current situation of illustration selection in history teaching,and provides corresponding basic requirements for the selection and application of illustration by teachers and certain guidance of illustration method.
