Illustrations are "second language" of Chinese textbooks, and they are alsoimportant parts of junior middle school Chinese textbooks, play an important role inChinese reading teaching. The illustrations can arouse the students’ interest in reading,deepen the understanding and memory of the text, and promote the education ofemotion and esthetics. At the same time, the illustrations are the most direct imagedata, and they can make the students to get more direct, more convenient materials.However, in the teaching practise, the illustrations are not made full use of. Therefore,i think that it is necessary to carry out their research for junior middle school Chinesetextbook illustrations to the Chinese reading teaching. The paper consists of five parts:The first part, firstly introduced the cause of select the topic; Secondly reviewedthe research situation with this paper related; Thirdly introduced the research objectand to clarify the concepts with this paper related; Finally introduced the researchmain contents, method and significance of this paper.The second part simply introduced the basic condition of the current Chinesetextbook illustrations, and introduced the development status of the current Chinesetextbook illustrations and the analyses on the present appliation situation of thecurrent Chinese textbook illustrations based on the questionaires.The third part analyzes the reason of the junior middle school Chinese textbookillustrations neglected.The fourth part is about “the perfecting suggestions of the current Chinesetextbook illustrations and applying proposal in the Chinese reading teaching.” This isthe key. It makes suggestions from the three aspects of the textbook compiling andapproval departments, teachers and students respectively.The fifth part, for the sake of the teachers can make full use of the illustrationscarry on the teaching practice, a lot of teaching examples provided to the teachersaccording to the grade.
