In the reform of the new curriculum,the development and application of curriculum resources are highly concerned.Local history resources are an important part of history curriculum resources.Because of their closeness to students' lives and vivid images,they play an irreplaceable role in high school history teaching.Local history teaching can narrow the gap between time and space,strengthen students' understanding and application of textbooks,cultivate students' interest in history learning,and enhance students' feelings about home and country.The Xinyang area is one of the birthplaces of Chinese civilization and has a rich historical and cultural heritage.It carries ancient Central Plains culture and Jingchu culture,northern culture and southern culture,and has unique red historical resources and root cultural resources.These precious local history resources are the foundation and guarantee for the teaching of local history.This article studies the application of local history resources in the history teaching of senior high schools in Xinyang.The main structure consists of four parts.The first part introduces the relevant background of high school history local teaching in Xinyang area and explains the related concepts.It sorts out the local cultural resources of Xinyang area,divides them into three parts of the ancient,the modern and the contemporary according to time,and combines with the content of the high school history textbooks of the current People's Education Edition to sort out the local historical resources of Xinyang area that can be used for history teaching.The second part investigates the conditions of the application of local history resources in the history teaching of nine high schools in Xinyang area.The results show that although most high school students and history teachers have a positive attitude towards the teaching of local history,the development and application of local local history resources in actual history teaching are few,because high school students who are under the pressure of the college entrance examination,have a weak sense of independent study of local history,the teachers lack local knowledge,the school lacks attention and support,and the evaluation incentive mechanism is not improvement.According to the problems in the investigation,the third part put forward the corresponding suggestions for the developmentand utilization of local historical resources from the four aspects of students,teachers,schools and society.The fourth part puts forward the application strategy of Xinyang local history resources in the high school history classroom and extracurricular teaching exploration,basing on the high school history teaching practice.
