The present study aimed to investigate whether and how parent-child relationship,interpersonal relationship,and core self-evaluation predict the depressive symptoms among students in vocational colleges.622 vocational college students(352 males and 270 females)participated in the study and completed questionnaires.Significant mean differences in depressive symptoms were found by genders,grades,and places of origin.Parent-child relationship,peer relationship,and core self-evaluation are significant and negative predictors to the depressive symptoms of students in vocational college.Core self-evaluation plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between peer relationship and depression.Implications of findings were discussed.The family should improve the family function and strengthen the quality of parent-child communication.Schools should create a harmonious peer atmosphere,attach importance to the construction of peer culture,enhance the communication between teachers and students,and strengthen psychological counseling.Vocational college students must learn to be self-acceptable and improve their ability to adjust their emotions.The society should enhance the social recognition of vocational students and increase their chances of demonstrating skills.
