In today’s society, depression is a major psychological problem that threatens people’s health and has received widespread attention from scholars at home and abroad.High school students, because of their semi-infantile and semi-mature psychological development and the great academic pressure they are facing, have become one of the depression-prone groups and need the attention and understanding of their families, schools and society. Therefore,it is of great significance to investigate the effects of parental conflict,parent-child relationship and individual resilience in families on adolescent depression from the family perspective as well as from the perspective of improving individual positive psychological qualities,in order to enrich the theory of depression and guide the development of school mental health education programs. In this study, two high schools in Heilongjiang and Henan were selected for the distribution and investigation of questionnaires to students from freshmen to seniors, using Children’s Perception of Inter-parental Conflict Scale,Center for Epidemic logic Studies Depression Scale,Family Adaption and Cohesion Evaluation Scales, the Parent-Child Conflict Scale and Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescents, and 604 valid questionnaires were obtained, with a valid recovery rate of 88.9%.The data were statistically processed using SPSS26.0,Amos24.0,and PROCESS plug-in,and the results are as follows.1.High school students’ parental conflict differed significantly in terms of grade, parents’ marital status and gender. The total score of parental conflict and the scores of conflict frequency, conflict resolution, threat and self-attribution dimensions were significantly higher in the senior class than in the senior class;the scores of parental conflict intensity, frequency, conflict resolution and total score of parental conflict were higher in divorced and separated families;the scores of parental conflict self-attribution dimensions were higher in male students than in female students.2.High school students’ parent-child bonding differed in terms of gender, whether they were only children, and parental marital status.Girls had significantly higher scores on mother-child parenting than boys, and boys had significantly higher scores on parent-child conflict than girls;only students reported significantly higher scores on mother-child conflict than non-only students;divorced families had higher scores on parent-child parenting than separated families, and normal families also had higher scores on parent-child parenting.3.There were significant differences in resilience among high school students by gender and grade level.Boys scored significantly higher than girls on the emotional control dimension of resilience, while girls scored higher than boys on family support and interpersonal assistance;seniors scored higher than seniors on interpersonal assistance.4.The overall depression total score of high school students was at a high level and discrete, and the proportion of both no depression problems and definitely depression problems was about 42%.The total depression score as well as the interpersonal dimension, positive emotion dimension, somatic symptoms, and activity delay dimension differed significantly on parental marital status, and there were no significant differences in depression scores by grade and gender.5.The results of relevant studies show that high school students’ parental conflict is significantly positively correlated with parent-child conflict and depression, and negatively correlated with parent-child affinity and psychological resilience.Parent-child affinity is significantly positively correlated with psychological resilience, negatively correlated with depression,parent-child conflict is significantly negatively correlated with psychological resilience and positively correlated with depression, and psychological resilience is significantly negatively correlated with depression of senior high school students.6.Parental conflict,parent-child relationship and psychological resilience can predict the depression of senior high school students.Parental conflict can not only directly and positively predict depression, but also predict depression through the mediation of psychological resilience, but also predict depression through the chain mediation of parent-child relationship and psychological resilience. |
