Under the wave of China's education system reform,the state advocates the quality-oriented education and the comprehensive development of students,and requires that academic performance not be regarded as the only standard to measure students' ability.However,under the background of traditional Chinese education philosophy,academic performance is still greatly concerned by schools,teachers,parents and students,especially students in junior high schools.As one of the objective criteria for evaluating the learning ability of junior middle school students,academic performance is an important factor that affects whether junior high school students can successfully enter key high schools.It can be said that academic performance is still a very important and relatively fair standard in the assessment of all measures of students' ability.Therefore,the research on the academic performance of junior middle school students and its influencing factors is still one of the focuses of scholars.In this study,learning motivation variables were introduced from the perspective of individuals,and family parenting style variables were introduced from the perspective of families.Junior high school students were taken as research objects to further study the relationship among family parenting style,learning motivation and academic performance.In this study,296 students from a middle school in Changchun,Jilin province were investigated by questionnaires,and the research conclusions are as follows:1.Junior high school students have significant gender differences in family parenting styles and various dimensions.In terms of positive parenting styles of fathers and mothers,boys score lower than girls,that is,girls have more positive parenting styles of fathers and mothers.In the negative parenting style of father and mother,male students scored higher than female students,that is,male students havemore negative parenting style of father.2.The gender difference of junior middle school students is reflected in learning motivation and other dimensions.Generally speaking,learning motivation contains three dimensions: surface,deep and achievement.Boys score significantly higher than girls in surface learning motivation.Boys scored lower than girls in deep and achievement motivation.3.There is a significant gender difference in the academic performance of junior middle school students,which is manifested in the fact that the academic performance of female students is significantly higher than that of male students.4.Positive parenting style(father and mother)has a significant positive correlation with academic performance;On the contrary,negative parenting style(father and mother)has a significant negative correlation with academic performance.5.Superficial learning motivation is negatively correlated with academic performance,while deep learning motivation and achievement motivation are positively correlated with academic performance.6.There is a significant correlation between family upbringing and learning motivation of junior middle school students.Positive parenting style is negatively correlated with superficial learning motivation and positively correlated with deep learning motivation and achievement motivation.On the contrary,negative parenting style is positively correlated with superficial learning motivation and negatively correlated with deep and achievement learning motivation.7.Superficial learning motivation and achievement learning motivation play a complete intermediary role between family upbringing and academic performance.Specifically speaking,on the one hand,superficial learning motivation plays a completely mediating role between parenting style and academic performance.Parents' positive parenting style can improve academic performance by reducing superficial learning motivation.Parents' negative parenting style can reduce academic performance by increasing superficial learning motivation.On the other hand,achievement motivation plays a completely mediating role in parenting style and academic performance.Specifically,parents' positive parenting style can improve academic performance by increasing achievement motivation.Negative parenting can reduce academic achievement by reducing achievement motivation.
