In our traditional culture,"death" is considered unlucky and even a taboo for most people.Therefore,death education for children is missing.The concept of death is everywhere in life.Children are easily misled by the wrong information of the outside world because of their young age.At the same time,childhood is the key period of psychological development.Most people will be exposed to death in childhood,which may produce a strong reaction to emotion,behavior and cognition.The paper,taking the community D in Shenzhen City as an example,evaluates the needs of death education for children and the current situation of death education at home and in schools.The study is based on ecosystem theory and cognitive development theory and adopts the methods of questionnaire,and interview.From the perspectives of death cognition,death attitude,implementation of death education,seven group activities were carried out for the death education for children.Then,the author exaluates the effectiveness of the group from two aspects:the degree of service goal and activity satisfaction.The results showed that the children had the wrong cognition of death,and have the fear over death,and they are vulnerable to the negative emotion caused by the case of sudden death.In addition,Family education is not enough for children's death education,and its contents are not scientific.Therefore,death education has become the blind spot of life education in schools.The group helps the children face death,reduce fear to death,establish scientific death concept and makes the parents realize the importance of death education.Group objective has been reached.At last,this paper reflects the shortcomings of group work,and puts forward the corresponding counter measures and suggestions from the point.It is suggested that more work can be done in group work intervention in the death education for children:carrying out the child-centred education and respecting their own human rights and individual differences;To carry our Experiencing teaching according to the consideration of culture;Facing the topic of "death",and keeping the principle of openness;conducting death education from the advantage perspective.In addition,it is suggested to promote the development of death education for children in China:changing the traditional concept of death and form correct attitude towards death education;the educational administration should attach importance to the education of death education for children,increase the support and guarantee,and promote the importance of death education by means of the power of social media and promote the correct concept of death.
