Building Harmonious Neighborhood Relations Helped By Social Work In Relocation Of Poverty-Stricken Communities In Yidi

"Relocating the poor" is an ambitious measure formulated by the Party and the Government to help impoverished people living in poor natural conditions and environments without basic production and development conditions to get rid of poverty as soon as possible.Although the poor are relocated at those communities with relatively complete infrastructure and better ecological environment and the living conditions,as their original lifestyle and living patterns have changed,the neighborhood relationship has changed accordingly,so there would exist unharmonious neighborhood relationship.As the neighborhood relationship is the fundamental factor to a harmonious and stable community,the indifference of neighborhoods will inevitably affect the harmonious development of the community.The improvement of neighborhood relationship in the resettlement community by effective ways is conducive to the stability and harmony of the community.Based on this starting point,the study took all residents of the Relocation and Resettlement Community T as the research object.By learning about the current situation of the neighborhood relationship among residents in the Community T,the study,combining relevant theories,analyzed the problems of the neighborhood relationship in the Community and attempted to promote building the harmonious neighborhood relationship in the relocation and resettlement community through social work.The survey showed that the problems of the neighborhood relationship in the Community mainly include: 1.interactions among residents are superficial;2.there are few opportunities for residents to interact;3.residents have a lower sense of belonging to the new community;4.the overall community has a low intimacy;5.the neighbors depend little on each other.In response to these problems,social workers improved the neighborhood relationship of the Community through professional methods like group work and community work.Open group activities were conducive to expanding the relationship network of residents,since the whole community were promoted by some points in this way and all residents became closer.The community activities provided residents with a platform for communication and exchange,which enhanced residents' sense of identity and belonging to the community.Social work with the combination of group work and community work is adopted to improve the neighborhood relationship of the relocation and resettlement community and reduce neighborhood disputes,which has a significant effect on improving harmonious neighborhood relationship.
