In recent years,with the development of international schools,curriculum system research on international schools has attracted more and more attentions,which also makes studies of teaching Chinese as a second language under international curriculum system become a new hot spot.Among all the international curriculum systems,this paper chose teaching Chinese under the IB curriculum guide to analyze.This paper is divided into seven chapters.The first chapter introduces the background and significance of this study,as well as research content and research methods.The second chapter is the theoretical review describes the current status of research and the development of IB program in China.The third chapter gives a whole introduction of IB Middle Years Program and IB language acquisition courses,and then an analysis of thecharacteristics of teaching Chinese under IB Curriculum system is given by comparing with the traditional Chinese teaching.The fourth chapter is a case investigations of Western International School in Shanghai,on the basis of investigation,some ideas of Chinese language course design are made.After that,the advantages and disadvantages of their course design through students’ feedback are analyzed.The fifth chapter is based on the research of Chinese textbooks for Chinese language program in Western International School in Shanghai.After the analysis of choosing Chinese textbooks to suit IB Chinese program through the perspective of teachers,a student satisfaction survey is also made to study the advantages and disadvantages of each elements of the chosen textbooks and ultimate suggestions are offered.Chapter VI is a suggestion for Chinese teaching from two dimensions,which includes IB Chinese courses and Chinese textbooks,and the shortcomings of current IB Chinese Courses are also pointed out.The last chapter is a summary of the full text of innovation and insufficient nature.
