Chinese teaching in Thailand has various kinds of problems.The teaching mode needs to be further optimized.Hence,the writer analyzes the reasons that cause unsatisfied teaching results.The author set 40 pupils in class 1 and class 2 of grade three in Chitralada school as study object and conducts an action study about group study.The action study takes the following steps :(1)find the actual problems in teaching(2)analyze survey data and propose solutions(3)plan implementation(4)analyze new survey data then evaluate the result of plan implementation.The author set class 1 of third grade as experimental group and class 2 of third grade as control group.Then the author made an investigation of the research object.After analyzation,the author makes summarize of the object's interest in Chinese learning and their Chinese level.The author then summarizes the main problems in teaching and then the author divided the experimental group into internal groups by referring to the score,personality,gender of the subjects in the experimental group.As the reference object of the experimental group,the control group was taught in large classes without grouping.According to the authors' comprehensive observations,the author developed the following methods to improve teaching in view of the above problems:(1)use both mother tongue and second language as teaching language(2)design group tasks to improve students' participation;(3)combine Chinese culture elements increase the fun of teaching and improve students' interest;(4)use proper classroom activities and innovate the way of presentation and review.In this comparative experiment,there were seven periods in total.After the implementation of the specific teaching plan in each period,the author takes effective teaching reflection and makes new plans to solve problems.After the action research,the writer re-investigates the study object.Students make progress in both study interest and Chinese level,especially in the experimental group.According to the results of the study,we argue that group teaching can promote students' enthusiasm and efficiency in class management.Teachers should actively carry out action research and constantly take teaching reflection in order to improve teaching quality.According to the research results,group teaching is helpful to improve the enthusiasm of students' participation in classroom activities and the efficiency of classroom management.Through group competition mode,the interest of each student can also be mobilized and the participation in classroom activities and tasks can be improved.In addition,in teaching Chinese as a second language,teachers are considered as guides and students are regarded as the center.Teachers should pay attention to the teaching language,teaching skills and teaching tasks and meet the needs of students and make proper teaching scheme.There are many aspects that need to be studied in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.Teacher should be actively devoted to various aspects of action research,constantly reflect on themselves in the teaching and research and improve teaching plan,teaching quality,teaching skills,knowledge and research level.
