Walter,an American educator,once said,"The extension of language is equal to the extension of life." Walter’s words indicate that language teaching resources can be found in every aspect of life,and that people keep on learning language in life.The "Chinese Curriculum Standards(Trial)for Regular Senior Highs" also mentions that "Chinese is one of the most important communication tools in the world and an essential part of human culture." "Chinese is a course for mother tongue education.The resources and practices are ubiquitous for Chinese learning are ubiquitous.Therefore,students should have more direct accesses to Chinese learning materials,and grasp rules of Chinese learning in practice.”At the same time,"development and utilization of curriculum resources" have also clearly pointed out that "Chinese curriculum resources include classroom teaching resources and extracurricular learning resources.”Thereby,to seek and develop curriculum resources from the vast living space has become an issue of great concern for forefront educational educators.With the advent of the new media era,multimedia information and technologies have achieved rapid development.Various film and television resources have been swiftly spread and integrated into people’s daily life.Under the background,it is imperative to discuss "applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum," and applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum teaching mean development and utilization of curriculum resources.Film and television resources,which can bring visual and auditory excitations that are different from books to humans via special communication media,have become increasingly popular among students and teachers.Applications of film and television resources to Chinese curriculum teaching play an important role in promoting development of students’ reading,writing and oral communication.However,the large number of film and television resources and their uneven quality have also triggered new problems,such as which film and television resources are suitable for Chinese curriculum teaching and which film and television resources are beneficial to Chinese language learning.On that basis,this paper attempts to study film and television resources which are applicable to high school Chinese curriculum,discuss the significance and influence of film and television resources to and on high school Chinese curriculum as well as problems facing applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum,and explore principles for applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum to adhere to.This paper consists of four chapters,and below is a brief introduction of every chapter:Chapter 1 conducts an overview of film and television resources and high school Chinese curriculum,clarifies relevant concepts,research background and significance,and focuses on studying the influence and significance of film and television resources applied to high school Chinese curriculum.Chapter 2 takes students and teachers from two campuses,namely Qianchuan and Panlong,of Huangpi District No.1 High School in Wuhan,Hubei.A questionnaire is conducted to investigate the current application status of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum.The survey covers film and television resources introduced to high school Chinese curriculum and the influence of film and television resources on high school Chinese curriculum learning.The survey results suggest that introduction of film and television resources related to high school Chinese curriculum as well as entertainment television programs and knowledge instructional television programs has a positive influence on students’ Chinese learning.Chapter 3 mainly expounds on problems existing in applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum,and proposes basic principles guiding applications of film and television resources to high school Chinese curriculum,hoping that these principles can guide and standard teachers’ teaching activities and alleviate the potential negative influence of film and television resources applied to high school Chinese curriculum.In the conclusion part,the research findings of the whole paper are summarized.
