In recent years,with the deepening of history curriculum reform,historical sources teaching has been paid more and more attention.Under such circumst.ances,some foreign experience is used for reference by many scholars to study historical sources teaching theoretically and practically.American history teaching has explored its unique teaching mode after a tough process.The American curriculum standard provides the direction for historical sources teaching from two aspects,and one is "understanding history",and the other is "cultivating historical thinking".Under the guidance of curriculum standards,American history teachers use forms,question chains and other means to guide students to start a preliminary study and lay a foundation for historical sources teaching.Accordingly,students learn through the following methods such as building aareading roadmap","doing history",using national websites,training essays,and timely criticism and feedback.This is of great significance to cultivate students’ historical research ability and dialectical thinking ability,and establish correct world outlook,outlook on life,values and historical outlook.,This paper includes five parts.First,elaborates the topic basis,the domestic and foreign research present situation and the research main method.Secondly,introduces the basic situation of American history teaching from two aspects:the development of American history teaching and the understanding of American history teachers.Thirdly,the paper introduces the regulations of the national curriculum standards of the United States on the historical source teaching to show its leading role.Fourthly,combining with a large number of teaching cases,this paper introduces the teaching strategies of historical source teaching from the aspects of preliminary preparation and implementation approaches.Fifthly,the characteristics of American historical materials teaching are analyzed.At the same time,combining the current situation of the historical source teaching in China,this paper provides reference for our country’ s historical source teaching.
