Memory is in your mind, save, and extracting individual experience of mental process, students' learning activities are based on memory.memory is crucial for learning, mathematics learning also cannot leave a memory, especially a beginner must rely on memory,to obtain the basic knowledge and basic skills. This paper will further explore the impact of mathematical memory on mathematical academic performance through empirical research, and whether there is a correlation between the two,so as to understand the current status of primary school students' mathematical memory.Firstly, according to the three aspects of psychology, pedagogy and mathematics itself, the contents that primary school students need to memorize in the process of mathematics learning are determined, including number and algebra, figure and geometry, and statistics and probability, which are divided into two learning segments for sorting, namely grades 1-3 and 4-6.Secondly,Numbers and algebra, graphics and geometry are selected from the mathematical contents that need to be memorized to compile the mathematical memory test paper and develop the scoring criteria. The study took 48 students from a sixth grade class at a school in wuhan and gave them a math memory test.Through the analysis of statistical data, the current status of primary school students' memory of mathematical concepts, properties, formulas, algorithms, memorization and other contents, the influence of mathematical memory on primary school students' mathematical academic performance, gender differences in mathematical memory and other information are understood. The study draws the following conclusions:(1)the overall level of primary school students'mathematical memory is good, but the gap between students is large and the distribution is scattered.(2)students in grade 6 of primary school have a solid memory for graphics and geometry, but need to strengthen their memory for Numbers and algebra.(3)students in grade 6 of primary school have a good memory of mathematical operation rules, multiplication table and formulas, but need to strengthen their memory of mathematical conceptual properties, and their memory of mathematical operation rules, multiplication table and formulas is better than that of mathematical conceptual properties.(4)primary school students in grade 6 mostly use words to fill in mathematical formulas, but seldom use mathematical letter symbols to express, and have weak awareness of mathematical symbols.(5)the mathematical memory level of primary school students in grade 6 is correlated with and positively correlated with their academic performance in mathematics.Students with high mathematical memory level have high academic performance in mathematics.Students with low math memory have lower math scores.(6)there is a significant difference in the mathematical memory ability between male and female students in grade 6,and female students have a better mathematical memory than male students. Finally, this paper proposes the following memory strategies based on the research conclusions:(1)teaching students according to their aptitude with respect to differences.(2)strengthen students'understanding of the nature of concepts.(3)improve students'understanding of the formula reasoning process.(4)strengthen the training of students'awareness of mathematical symbols.(5)cultivate students' good attention quality.
