Learning calls for intelligence as well as diligence and memory is the engine of intelligence. Therefore, we should try to employ various kinds of skills and be well-prepared in class to develop students'memory potential in class to help improve students'intelligence. Only in this way can we achieve maximum results with little efforts in our daily teaching.Studies have shown that there are three kinds of memory during the process of man's memory. They are as follows:sensory memory; short-term memory and long-term memory. When we receive a message, sensory memory appears first then follows a 20-second short-term memory and finally it turns out a long-term memory. We know that if students can improve their memory potential and make a good balance between left and right part of brain, they will make their learning more effective.As a math teacherâ… think that memory potential in math should be paralleled with math knowledge teaching. I think teachers'awareness and initiative of different memory ability training will set a good example to students. During math teaching, math knowledge source has the function of an engine in memory process. So, math teachers should employ effective teaching and memory strategy in and after class. Meanwhile, teachers of math should bear it in mind that teaching memory skills should be their primary task in teaching. However, high school students have many problems in memorizing. They seldom know brain memory process and have no idea of human beings'brain capacity. Thus, we have to face the problem of learning with little or even without memorizing process and try to make a change. What's more, some math teachers put little emphasis on developing students'memory potential, which also demands a reform.In this paper, through exploring the method of improving studnts'memories and the ways of preventing memorial rigidity, we should prevent students'invalid learning and try to help them pay attention to developing their right part of brain as well as setting up memory vault so that they can fight against lapse of memory. Teachers should also offer memory training courses at appropriate time and teach them according to their ability. At the same time, teachers should employ different memory training strategies and other activities to help students improve their memory skills and their learning.
